We help grantmaking
organisations to form sustainable partnerships with locally led nonprofits

1. For grant making organisations

At Connected Development we understand the obstacles faced by organisations that have an international focus to their grantmaking. This includes businesses, charitable foundations, individuals, and international development agencies (INGOs).

Connected Development works with clients who are completely new to  philanthropy, right through to highly experienced grant makers to navigate these challenges. Through a targeted set of services, we promote more engaged international giving between donors and locally led initiatives. These partnerships produce long term change and more sustainable development outcomes.

We provide specialist in the following areas:

i. Strategy: Defining a clear giving plan

ii. Research: Identifying suitable grantees

iii. Governance: Setting up a foundation or fund

iv. Impact: Monitoring and evaluating results

v. Communications: Creating visual stories for the public

2. For locally led nonprofits

At Connected Development we recognise the unique ability of locally led nonprofits to create sustainable change through their programming.

Working closely with communities to address specific development and humanitarian challenges, these local organisations are always extremely busy and often struggle to communicate their impact to national and international audiences.

This is where Connected Development can come in. We provide context specific support and guidance as part of accompaniments that cover the following areas:

- Strategy - simple, clear, actionable, strategic plans

- Research - stakeholder mapping skills, building a pipeline

- Governance - legal compliance, managing boards

- Impact - Establishing practical M&E systems

- Communications - proposal writing, donor engagement, photography, web development & social media.

With these additional resource mobilisation skills, local organisations can scale up their community based interventions, engage national stakeholders and create long term, sustainable change

Your knowledge, competence, and efficiency were an invaluable asset during my time as a Trustee for a newly formed UK registered charity, as we sought to establish a sound governance strategy for the new organisation, and clear options for possible ways forward.

I was particularly impressed by the extent to which you were able to bring your extensive previous international experience in the charity field to bear while also being focused on our particular goals and constraints.
